The Directorate for EU Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was established on July 4, 2000, in charge of the coordination of activities regarding Türkiye’s full membership process to the European Union. The Directorate for EU Affairs, which is the main institution responsible for carrying out Türkiye’s accession process to the EU, is in charge of directing, monitoring and coordinating post-membership studies for Türkiye’s preparation for EU membership.
